Both the teams were great in the final match. The saddest part of the match-bunch of yellow cards. Yeah, the men in blue sucked their whistle too often. The referee almost gave all his yellow cards…J The first yellow card was given to Robin Van within 15 minutes from the start. In a time less than 2minutes Carles Puyol was given one. Carles opened Spain’s account and the number increased till the end of the game. At the 20th minute of the match Arjen Robben, an enthusiastic Dutch tried his best to score a goal but he failed. Then the third yellow card holder-Mark Van and within 2 minutes another Spanish guy, Sergio Ramos was given a yellow card. The orange men gave their best in smashing the Spain. At the 28th minute of the game Nigel De Jong was given a yellow card. The fans had a disappointment with referee’s yellow card releases but even then the play had enough yellow cards swallowed by the Spanish and the Dutch. At the end of first half an addition of two minutes was given and Robben again had a show off but it was shut by the clever play of Spain. With 56% ball possession Spain made its best but even with 44% ball possession Netherlands managed Spain.
I don’t know why? But I slept for about 10 minutes after the start of second half. In the second half again the yellow cardholders increased in number. At the 66th minutes of the game Joan Cape De Vila added a yellow card into Spain’s account and unfortunately David Vila missed three golden opportunities at 69th, 75th and 76th minute. A Dutch made a foul at 72nd minute giving Spain an unexpected joy. Unfortunately Spain didn’t score a goal though the kick was about 29m from the goal. Star player, Arjen Robben was given a yellow card at 83rd minute of the game. I thought of publishing this under the label ‘OCTOPUS SUCKS’ at 87th minute of the game but the game was added with more time. Every corner kick was perfectly tackled by Netherlands. Netherlands was cautious in preventing Spain from scoring a goal than winning the match. Spain tried its best to score a goal with all its efforts but Netherlands goalkeeper crushed Spanish tricks and added more pressure on Spain. The most unfortunate happening-at 100th minute, the ball was slightly deviated from its way to goal by a clever Dutch and Spain missed it again…
At last Heitinga opened the red card account but it was the first and last red card. Another chance was given to Spain by Heitinga, but Spain missed it again…L Vand Der Weil was awarded with a yellow card at 110th minute. The yellow card didn’t stop with this, it still continued till the end if the game. Yahooooo…!!! Spain shouted with all its fans as Iniesta paved their way to victory. At 116th minute Spain became the supreme power with the goal by Iniesta. Even after this Netherland struggled a lot to score a goal. Alaas….Xavi closed the yellow card ceremony at 120th minute. With only 2 minutes and 34 seconds to go the game was too serious and at last yippeee…!!! Spain and Paul the psychic octopus received greetings from all over the world. It gained all the popularity and fame equaling Shakira’s waka waka….
TALLENTED SPAIN NOT ONLY SAVED PAUL BUT ALSO ITS OWNER…
